You can. Not. If you for some time not worth the cost. If you do as a hobby, you want a serious team that does not limit mixtures released by a company. Best Brewers put a good kit. You also need a pot with BREW (with the pot) and a glass bottle for aging long-term.
It is possible, but it is needlessly expensive, can get into a jug of mead gallon, but you want the package of glass, if you need a very good taste, you can buy a bottle.
