I am removing a ceiling exhaust fan in kitchen & replace with smaller one. How do I fill-in the cutout area? - ceiling exhaust fan

I have a popcorn ceiling and exhaust fresh air / light has cut a lot smaller. Is there an easy way to fill in the extra space on the left side of the old fan?

Several times I have done. I suggest you get the fan off completely new area of the old fan. Then take pc.s 1 "x 4" and reduced to only three inches larger than the old hole. Place in the hole, and then pull flat against the drywall ceiling. Run a few drywall screws from the PC. Wood as you keep the overlap to provide support for the drywall patch.
Now, cut a PC. the drywall the same thickness as what is your ceiling. Place a drop of liquid nails adhesive on the back of the revision of the drywall so that the contact surface of strips of wood. Now run drywall screws holding the patch in position. Take a 2 "scraper and scrape the popcorn finish on the edges of the patch.
Take some clay and plaster are on the edge of about 1 applied / 8 "thick. Now, cut a ribbon of paper, we integrate the mud drywall. Plaster Smooth 6" / spatula. Let dry for 24 hours. Then apply another layer of clay and plaster smooth. Feather in the mud, so that no ridge below. Let dry for 24 hours. then sand and fill the bad points. If youthat, as you wish, you can use a spray popcorn texture spray. It is recommended that the entire roof of Nice flat ceiling paint to paint over if you really want to hide the patch.
If you do not want the new fans to move, the same principle when you install patches at the edges of the opening of age used.

Cut a piece of 1 / 2 inch plywood about 1 cm larger than the hole that was the old, a little sand and paint the same color as theceiling take the stone wall screws and tighten the screws on the ceiling, then cut a new hole. Holes in the wall covered dry screw a little color. That makes a very good job. The oppo-plated as it should be. I have in my own kitchen. (Look carefully)

If no adapter plate is available that the entire area around the fan to reduce and replace the old drywall. Then cut a new hole for the little fan. Bummer ..... unless you can really creative as the only solution that makes sense and not a platform.

You can choose from wood, have to fill the void, then you need to buy shelf.
